Hi!  My name is Robin and I live in Upstate NY.  I have a neuromuscular disorder  and my husband, Frank, and I have seen firsthand how expensive equipment for people who have disabilities can be.  My friend, Lisa, who is a member of our board and has the same disorder as I do, is also very aware of the expenses surrounding physical disabilities.

I decided to start this organization because I felt it would be a great opportunity to help others to be able to own the equipment they need, but otherwise might not be able to have.

 

Lives Made Easier is a 501c3 organization.

Our family is very grateful for the Lives Made Easier organization for purchasing an adaptive bike for our two sons, Sam and Ben. Sam and Ben were both diagnosed with Autism at an early age and both have low muscle tone. The one piece of equipment that was recommend by their physical therapists to help strengthen their core muscles and help with motor planning was an adaptive bike. We were very grateful when Lives Made Easier reached out to us and was able to help. This bike has truly made a wonderful difference in our boys lives. IN 2005 I WAS HIT BY A DRUNK DRIVER. LIVES MADE EASIER HELPED ME GAIN MY LIFE BACK, BY GIVING ME THE ABILITY TO USE MY WALKER TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE ON MY OWN. I RIDE THE CDTA BUS, I SHOP FOR MYSELF, I GET EXERCISE BY GOING FOR WALKS, I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT,  I'M NO LONGER AFRAID OF FALLING, I'M NO LONGER DEPENDENT ON OTHER PEOPLE.  I LEARNED TO DO THINGS FOR MYSELF WITH THE AID OF MY WALKER, MY WALKER HAS ALSO TRAVELED TOO FLORIDA & NEW YORK CITY.
